Compassionate, Whole-Body Women’s Health Care in Colorado

I work with women throughout every stage of life, from puberty to menopause. Many women get blown off or are told that their symptoms — whether postpartum or perimenopausal — are just their new normal. Or they are offered pharmaceutical interventions like birth control pills or medications for mood before any investigation is done to evaluate the root cause. And while medication can be a great fit for some, it can also cover up underlying health concerns like nutrient deficiencies or hormonal imbalances. Through deep listening, proper lab testing, and over 20 years of clinical experience, I am able to personalize treatment plans that help you feel better.

Why Women’s Health Requires a Different Approach

Women’s bodies are beautifully complex — and their health care should reflect that. Naturopathic medicine honors the connection between body, mind, and lifestyle, offering care that listens, adapts, and heals. I take time to understand your story, respect your choices, and create a plan that fits your unique needs.

How I Work with WomeN

It all starts with listening.  Once I gather all the details I need, I make sure there is time to answer your questions.  Then we make a plan to move forward. This can include in-depth lab testing and focused trials of treatment, as well as ongoing support as we move through the healing process.  Communication is very important to me. I always want my patients to understand our plan and know what comes next.  This process is creative, collaborative and informed by a deep knowledge of naturopathic medicine and many years of clinical experience.  I have a deep commitment to figuring out how to help women feel better.

1. Listen deeply to understand your story

2. Identify root causes through comprehensive testing

3. CREATE A PERSONALIZED PLAN USING DIFFERENT NATUROPATHIC STRATEGIES

4. SUPPORT YOU WITH ONGOING CARE AND EDUCATION

  • Natural Fertility & Reproductive Health Support

Naturopathic Fertility Care in Colorado | Preconception & Cycle Support

With a background in midwifery, I love helping women prepare for pregnancy. From basic preconception care to more complex fertility challenges, naturopathic medicine offers gentle, effective, evidence-based therapies that optimize fertility and pregnancy outcomes. I also enjoy working with those coming off birth control and using the Fertility Awareness Method to either promote or prevent pregnancy.

  • Support for Pregnancy & the Postpartum Journey

Postpartum Care in Colorado | Naturopathic Support for New Mothers

While I no longer attend births as a midwife, I love using that experience to offer adjunctive care during and after pregnancy. With a background in naturopathic midwifery and experience supporting more than 100 births, I bring both clinical expertise and deep respect for the postpartum experience. Our current system often underserves pregnant and postpartum women, paying little attention to nutrition, lifestyle, and emotional well-being. Many women are told their symptoms must simply be endured, as pharmaceutical options are limited. This is where the safe and effective modalities of naturopathic medicine truly shine. I am passionate about educating women on how to support themselves and build a strong network of care throughout their reproductive years — from optimizing preconception health to restoring balance after postnatal depletion.

  • Hormonal Health

Women’s Hormone Balance in Colorado | Naturopathic Menstrual Health Care

Can you imagine a menstrual cycle without the drama — stable mood and energy, better sleep, and bleeding that is manageable, predictable, and with minimal pain? I believe this is possible for most women. It is frustrating how much discomfort women are expected to tolerate when it comes to their cycles. Irregular, painful, and heavy periods are signs of imbalance that deserve care. I help women explore all options — naturopathic, pharmaceutical, and surgical — to create a personalized plan that truly works.

  • Perimenopause and Menopause

Perimenopause & Menopause Care in Colorado | MSCP-Certified Naturopathic Doctor

Perimenopause is one of my greatest passions. Once women move beyond their reproductive years, symptoms like insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, low mood, and body pain are often dismissed as “just the new normal.” I believe this phase can be a time to thrive — with the right education, tools, and guidance. As one of the few naturopathic doctors who is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), I am uniquely qualified to support women through the perimenopausal transition and beyond.

After menopause, the focus shifts to protecting long-term health: strong bones, a healthy heart, and a sharp mind. Through personalized nutrition, movement strategies, advanced testing, and targeted supplementation, I support women in optimizing their healthspan as they age. While I cannot prescribe hormone replacement therapy in Colorado, I provide guidance on appropriate dosing, application, and safe access when indicated — and offer evidence-based alternatives for those who prefer not to use hormones.

  • Healthy Aging

Holistic Healthy Aging & Longevity Care for Women in Colorado

Aging is inevitable — but how you age is deeply influenced by the care you give your body along the way. I support women in maintaining vitality, strength, cognitive health, and metabolic balance through personalized nutrition, movement, hormone support, and preventative screening. Whether you’re noticing shifts in energy, skin, sleep, or resilience, we focus on proactive, whole-body strategies that help you feel vibrant and capable in every decade. My goal is to help you age with confidence, not limitation.

  • Active Women & Athletes

Naturopathic Sports Medicine in Colorado | Performance, Recovery & Hormone Support

I love working with active women and athletes who want to feel strong, resilient, and energized in their bodies. Whether you are training for an event, returning to movement after injury, or committed to staying active through every stage of life, I support performance through personalized nutrition, recovery strategies, and hormonal balance. From fueling and endurance to injury prevention and sustainable training, my goal is to help you move with confidence — without burning out your body in the process.

what your visits include

Thoughtful care. Personal attention. A clear path forward.

Your first appointment is a 90-minute, in-depth consultation designed to understand what is happening in your body and why. This is unhurried, collaborative care — created for women who want more than surface-level answers and are ready for a truly individualized approach. This visit gives us the time and space to look at your whole picture and begin shaping a plan that reflects both clinical insight and your real life.

Your return naturopathic visits are focused on evaluating your progress, refining your care plan, and continuing the deeper work of understanding and addressing root causes.

What Your first Visit Includes:

  • We take time to explore your current concerns and the context behind them — medical history, nutrition, sleep, stress, digestion, hormones, family history, and lifestyle. This extended format ensures you feel fully heard and supported.

  • If you’ve had labs, imaging, or previous evaluations, I carefully review them to identify patterns, clarify past findings, and integrate what you’ve already done into your care.

  • Together, we build a timeline of your symptoms and health experiences to better understand what may be contributing to your current concerns. This approach allows us to move beyond symptom management and address underlying systems.

  • By the end of your visit, you’ll leave with clear, actionable guidance, including:

    • likely contributors to your symptoms

    • recommended lab testing or further evaluation (if needed)

    • initial nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement strategies

    • a plan for ongoing care and follow-up

What Your follow up Visits Include:

  • We discuss how you’ve been responding to treatments, any changes in symptoms, and any new concerns that have come up since your last appointment.

  • If you’ve completed lab work or imaging, we review those results together and integrate the findings into your ongoing plan. If further testing is appropriate, we discuss options and determine the next steps.

  • Your nutrition, lifestyle, supplement, and therapeutic recommendations are updated based on your progress and any new insights.

  • We keep working through the layers of your health story, identifying underlying drivers and fine-tuning your plan as we go.

Dr. Caitlin O'Connor is worth every penny.

“Dr. Caitlin is the most knowledgeable and educated doctor I have ever seen. I started going to her at 31, after nearly ten years of trying to figure out what was wrong with me. She immediately made me feel at ease and quickly got to the root of my health issues. I have PCOS and Hashimoto’s, which made getting pregnant extremely difficult. After working with her to heal my system, I was able to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy. It took a lot of work on my end, but she guided me through every step.

Even though I’ve since moved away from Denver, I still email her from time to time for her insight. I’m 41 now and able to manage my health because of the education and support she gave me. She is worth every penny.”
